Waiting

It's has only been 5 days since my husband went out of town and I'm already starting to feel a little down.
So many of my friends have been so kind texting me to ask how I am, if I need anything, letting me know they're here if I need them. I'm beyond grateful to have people who care so much.
I've even started spring cleaning which is really me just organizing and giving away what I no longer need. I'm a horrible cleaner. The dust on the floor is a good give away.
I've written letters every night but am still waiting on a place to send them. I got a post card from the army saying that he arrived and will write soon.

March 21- the wedding

After the drive downtown and some confusion about which building to go to, then some confusion about which building I had told family to go to (second oops of the day) we made it!
Our judge was very nice and the vows were beautiful, I wish I could remember them. When it was my turn my voice was not my own and I was crying so hard the judge told me to take a deep breath and take my time. Moments before I had a giggle fit from the nerves! Roller coaster emotions!
I was definitely not the only one crying so it was ok.
My favorite part (not counting the love you forever, being faithful, rest of our lives together part) was afterward while signing the license when our judge told Josh the two new rules.
1. The wife is always right
2. What's yours is hers, what's hers is hers
So funny! And true!
Judge Berry made our day memorable as well as all of the loved ones that came. All 12 of them, it was quite a full room!

March 21- Getting Ready

We were so lucky to have a beautiful, sunny, warm spring day for our wedding. Unfortunately Josh had to work for a few hours and even though I had the opportunity to sleep in, I spent a bit of the morning paying bills online and doing laundry.
I had already gotten my nails done the night before and waiting until that morning I make a hair appointment. Oops. The lady at the salon was sweet and suggested a new way to part my hair (which I am trying today) before my trim and curls. I've been debating a loose body perm for a few months now and just might do it?!?
Josh and I returned home at the same time to start changing. In the middle of my makeup I realized I had not eaten anything and walked out to my future husband going to town on an entire container of ice cream with a large spoon. Guess he was hungry too!

Children's Book v1

This week I introduced the children to The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear by Don and Audrey Wood. It's definitely one of my favorite children's books and perfect for toddlers and young 3s.
They love guessing what will happen next, discussing the mouse's expressions, and the funny things he does to protect his berry from the bear.
My favorite part is the silly disguise the mouse uses so I added real silly disguise glasses for the children to wear. I love watching their faces when they see themselves. And for $1 at the Dollar Tree? Even better.

Be Bop

I had some "me time" on Sunday where I took my time getting ready and tidying up the house. I picked up my ring and cried and cried.
We are getting married in the easiest least stressful way, yet my emotions have been out of control!
After that I decided to shop for myself since I have been good paying off bills for so long. Went to TJMaxx and scored big with Be Bop brand dresses. I think they are so comfy and cute! Definitely a brand I look for when I'm there.
I did some grocery shopping at Whole Foods before a visit with my mom and sister and then dinner with Josh's family. Oh and Zip Dip for a baseball helmet sundae. Ha.

Super Early Easter

Not super because it's so great, but super early because the holiday is still weeks away!
With Josh's leave having him miss a number of things I will consider our "firsts" as a married couple (when I realized my birthday fell in that time I started crying. I don't even like my birthday!), I decided to make him a basket of goodies and give him some time to eat it all.
I went with Reese's PB eggs and the rest is chocolates from Cincinnati candy/ice cream shop Greater's and The Fawn. Let me say The Fawn smelled heavenly and I took my time!
It's a beautiful day out, I've started spring cleaning in the closets, and I'm wearing teacup earrings :)

Spring Sensory Table

I made a quick stop at The Dollar Tree last night to grab things to fill the dry sensory table at school. I picked out small eggs, eggs that are ornaments that I removed the ribbon from, pom poms, plastic hearts and stars. I had dry beans from the grocery and wooden beads from the toys at school.

I think the bright colors look welcoming and the small eggs are perfect for small hands to practice fine motor skills!

7 days

I have just seven days before Josh and I get married at city hall. While I am excited about this new chapter in our life together, that puts us at just 13 days until he leaves. For 5 months.
I feel relieved that we have a date picked and I bought a dress and shoes. I went with the new black flats from Target because I live there and it would only make sense to wear something from there to get married in!
